Fold Friday: Folded Carbonate flysch, France
Beginning our Fold Friday series with an impressive folded sedimentary unit.
Lately, I’ve been trying to find ways to compensate paid subscribers for their generosity and interest in science. However, I want to retain the integrity of getting scientific research out to as many people as possible. Navigating those two requirements will forever be a challenge, but I think I have an idea to both compensate paid subscribers, as well as keep as many articles free as possible.
I will continue sending my weekly newsletters on Tuesdays, and these posts will explore new research and summarize key concepts in Earth Science. For paid subscribers, I will start a second series I plan to send on Fridays, beginning today.
This series will explore interesting rock formations, and faults, and evolve in the future to other topics. Other potential candidates include earthquakes, maps, minerals, etc. I’ll lean on you all for your feedback to help evolve these posts. What are you most interested in and what do you hope to learn more about?
My full archive found here is also exclusively for paid subscribers: posts older than two months are paywalled. Thank you to all those who can support me and my work. If the financial cost is too much of a burden, I understand and a free subscription still provides incredible support. If you would like to pay but are unable, please reach out to me and I am happy to offer discounted subscriptions to those in need. Also, check out the referral program which offers paid subscriptions for referrals.
For those of you who would like to upgrade to a paid subscription, use the following link. I’m currently running a 20% for-life discount to all subscribers who upgrade to paid in the next month, as a huge thank you for your generous support as I’ve just recently added a paid option.
As always, THANK YOU for reading and for your support in Earth Science!
This series was inspired by a fold shared by
, which was created by glacial rebound in the Great Lakes region. Spectacular, right?Today, I wanted to kick off our Fold Friday series with an even more complicated alliteration, Folded French Flysch. Try saying that 5 times fast…
